Joseph "Joe" Charles Wyatt

Joseph "Joe" Charles Wyatt, 77, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024 in his home. Born September 10, 1946 in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of the late James Harold and Janie (Overcash) Wyatt. He married his "Honey", Becky, on September 19, 1965 in Charlotte, NC.

A 1964 graduate of Harry P. Harding High School, Joe spent 44 years as a telephone repairman. He was formerly employed with Southern Bell, Bell South, AT&T and TTM.

After retirement, he spent 25 years researching and building his family tree with 11, 290 members

Joe enjoyed gardening, traveling with his wife Becky to various states for family research, and Saturday Night dinners with his extended family.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Becky G. Wyatt; children, Melonie (Mike) Ferguson and Joseph Larry Wyatt; grandchildren, Luke (Becca) Ferguson and Amber (Kobi) Palomaki; great-grandchild, Vivian Shelby Ferguson; sister, Amy Russell; sister-in-law, Ann Wyatt; brothers-in-law, Ben (Pat) Gadd and Carl (Sherri) Gadd; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his siblings, Jim (Jean) Wyatt, Pat Starnes, Ruth (Max) Kirby, Larry Wyatt and Robert "Bobby" Wyatt; brothers-in-law, Gilbert Russell and Tony Gadd.

Special thanks and gratitude to Via Hospice Nurses, Brittany, Stephanie and Ametra; especially his "Angel," Georgette for treating him with respect and dignity, becoming his best friend and sharing his daily popsicle.

A visitation for Joe will be held Monday, July 1, 2024, from 11:00 AM until the time of his funeral service at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC.
