Joshua Lamar "Hollywood" Vaughn, 33, of Charlotte, NC, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, December 18, 2012.

He was born on June 1, 1979 in Charlotte, NC, son of Calvin Lamar Vaughn of Charlotte, NC and Maggie Fisher Owens of Dandridge, TN.

Despite living with Cystic Fibrosis, Josh lived life fully, playing baseball and football as a child, adding golf, motorcycle riding and shag dancing. He had the perfect personality for his work as a DJ for Blacktop Entertainment where he worked for ten years. His passion for life and his family endeared him to those that knew him.

Josh received a double lung transplant at UNC Hospitals Chapel Hill in 2008 and upon returning to Charlotte had a fabulous tattoo depicting a set of lungs with the words “Faith” and “Hope” tattooed onto his back. He was an active advocate for organ donation and volunteered his time at Life Share of the Carolinas.

Josh is survived by his Father Calvin Lamar Vaughn and wife Tracee, his Mother Maggie Fisher Owens and husband Rick, his Sister Michelle Vaughn Smith and husband Derek, his Brother Garrett Chance Vaughn, and his Aunt Claire Fisher Lawrence and husband Bruce, along with many other aunts, uncles and cousins. He was deeply loved by all.

Carolinas Cornerstone Church, Ft. Mill, SC. is the location for both the visitation, 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 21, and Josh’s Celebration of Life service, 12:00 Noon on Saturday, December 22.

Condolences to the family may be offered at www.mcewenpinevillechapel.com.

Memorials in Josh’s name may be sent to Life Share of the Carolinas, 5000 D Airport Center Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28208.

Josh Vaughn/Chance Family: I will always remember the very first day I met you and then your wonderful family, including Claire and Bruce! The memories and times we shared over the years will never be forgotten but priceless treasures. I'm so blessed to have had the opportunity to be a part of your life. Remember what you told me a few months ago, "we have been through a lot over the years, good and bad times, and it's all worth keeping." You are exactly right, I will always remember and cherish all the memories. You will always hold a special place in my heart.......Love You Always, UnJou
