

She is survived by her sister Randy Sue Ellis, M.D. of Spruce Pine, NC, her son Richard Greg of Charlotte, daughter in law Mona, 4 grandchildren – Alexander and Richard of St. Petersburg, FL, twins Katherine and William of the home, and niece Lisa Ellis Anderson of Mooresville, NC.
She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Lee Kile (Dick), sister Desmond Gail (Ellis) Weeks of Charlotte and Lonnie Gene Ellis of Blowing Rock, NC.
Joyce grew up in Spruce Pine, NC, and graduated Mars Hill College as a paralegal. She then married Dick and they were together for 49 years until Mr. Kile’s passing in 2005.
Together Joyce and Dick were long time owners of Morse Sewing Center in Charlotte. Joyce became well known in the Carolinas for sales and training on Bernina Sewing Machines. Together they were the #1 sales volume leaders of Bernina machines on the East Coast for many years.
Joyce and Dick always loved traveling, and after their retirement from Morse, they traveled the world together and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
A memorial service will be held on September 10 at 2 pm at Sharon Memorial Park Mausoleum at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte. Joyce will be laid to rest beside her husband.
In her retirement years, Joyce donated much of her time and energy to the Shepard Center for senior care in Charlotte. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Shepard Center (704) 365-1995 in Joyce’s name.
