A graduate of West Mecklenburg High School, class of 1960, Joyce attended Presbyterian School of Nursing, Charlotte. She was a member of Catawba Heights Baptist Church.
Joyce took pride in her work. She was an employee of Eastern Airlines for 27 years and the general manager at Winton Products Company for 30 years.
She enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, yardsales, antiquing and attending to wildlife.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Rick; son, Jason Rick; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
