

Born on January 28, 1937 in Taylorsville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Blanche Warren Matheson. She was educated in the Rowan County Schools. A Receptionist with City Chevrolet in Charlotte, she was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church where she was very active until her health would not permit. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard John Stavrakas and by two sisters, Helen Marie Jackson and Sue Perry.
Survivors include her daughter Patricia Perry Gordon and her husband Ryan of Concord and her son, Michael Perry and his wife Beverly of Mint Hill. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Michael Perry, Jr. of Harrisburg, NC; Victoria Perry of Concord, NC; Maranda Freer of Charlotte, NC; and Michelle Pollman of Charlotte, NC. Three great-grandchildren, Serenity Perry of Harrisburg; Wesley Freer of Charlotte and Lexington Pollman of Charlotte; a sister, Colleen Greene of Aiken, SC; and a stepson, Richard Stavrakas of Charlotte, also survive her.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 7200 E W.T. Harris Blvd. in Charlotte, North Carolina. A service celebrating the life of Mrs. Stavrakas will follow at 11:00 AM with the Rev. John Harrill officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Sharon Memorial Park.
