Joyce Pullen Wells

Mrs. Wells attended UNCC and Winthrop College as a young adult. She was a beautiful, young woman with a career in modeling and worked as Public Relations and Fashion Coordinator for Douglas Furs in Charlotte, NC. She also worked for Merrill Lynch in various roles.

After marriage to William R. Wells, she was a stay-at-home mother for her two children. Later in life, she went back to college receiving an undergraduate Teaching degree from Catawba College in Salisbury, NC. She also attained a Master's degree in Special Education. She worked for Landis Elementary as a Special Education teacher for several year. After retirement, she volunteered at Hawk Ridge Elementary in Ballantyne area and served as a private tutor to many young children. She was active in both volunteering her time until 2024.

Mrs. Wells was the daughter of Kathleen and Wilbur Pullen.

Surviving family include son Lee Wells (Leslie) of Laurel Springs, NC, daughter Heather Adcock of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Brandon Travis, Marli Adcock, Grant Adcock, Caitlin Harrell (Ethan Thacker), and Preston Harrell.

Funeral services will be held at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel Sunday, September 27, at 3:00pm. Family will greet visitors just prior to and following the service. There will be no formal receiving.
