Joyce Boone Wilkinson

A service to celebrate her life will be at Calvary Baptist Church, 2727 Mt. Holly Huntersville

Road, Thursday, October 2nd at 12:00 PM. The visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Officiating the service will be grandsons, Bobby Wilkinson III and Stephan McQuage. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Bearing the Casket will be her grandsons: Michael, Travis, Kurt, Tony, Mark & Jon.

Joyce was born in Asbury Park, NJ on the 10th of August 1930. She was one of 6 children of the late Thomas Larkin Boone and Annie Lee Gaddy Boone. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her loving husband, Robert Lewis Wilkinson, of 64 years and her precious daughter, Cheryl Lynn Wilkinson Bowers.

Joyce was a devoted and godly Christian woman whose life reflected her faith in everything she did. She worked at Calvary Baptist Church daycare for over 40 years. She was a member of the choir, the Fish group and the Evelyn Stove Sunday school class. She loved to sing and play the piano. Her happiest moments were having her children together, cooking her delicious meals for the family and spending time singing around the piano. Our mother had a way of making people fall in love with her with her sweet spirit and her incredible sense of humor. Her funny stories brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother and we will miss her dearly. Her legacy and the treasured memories will always be in our hearts and lives.

Survivors are her son, Bobby Wilkinson Jr. (Joy), and daughter, Kathy Bridges, both of Charlotte. Nine grandchildren, Michael (Tonya), Travis (Mindi), Melissa (Jon), Alicia (Mark), Bobby III (Bethany), Kurt (Melissa), Tony (Katy), Jayme, Jenna (Stephan). Thirty-three great grandchildren.

In Lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Calvary Baptist Church (building fund) 2727 Mt. Holly Huntersville Road, Charlotte, NC 28214
