Juanita H. Lucas

Mrs. Lucas, 86, entered into her eternal rest on Monday, September 13, 2010. She was born on April 9, 1924 in Wilson County, North Carolina.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Plaza Baptist Church, with The Rev. David Gales officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Juanita was a certified nursing assistant and enjoyed many years of taking care of patients within their home. She was also devoted and caring to the members of her family and her family at Plaza Baptist Church where she had been a faithful member for many years. She was known throughout her church family for her cake baking and sending cards for all occasions.

She was the widow of Wade Lucas, Jr. and was also preceded in death by her son, Frank Hayes. Surviving are her son, Bob Lucas and his wife, Cindy, of York, SC; and grandsons, Wade and Craig Lucas, of York, SC, who are left with many memories of their loving Me-Maw. Other survivors include a daughter, Patsy Norman and her husband, J.B., granddaughter, Lisa Hill and great-granddaughter, Brittany Hill, all of Covington, GA; two brothers, Dick Hayes of Crockett, VA and Albert Hayes of Salisbury, NC; and a sister, Peggy Pharr of Dacula, GA.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Pillars (Senior Citizens Group) of Plaza Baptist Church, 3321 The Plaza, Charlotte, NC 28205.
