

Born January 14, 1950, Judith was a native of Cherryville, NC and a daughter of the late Oliver Erskine Alexander Wimberly and Mary Katharine Snyder Wimberly. Following graduation from Western Carolina University with an undergraduate degree in Business Education, she held various administrative positions in Greensboro and Charlotte, until finally deciding to begin her career as a real estate agent. She held membership in the National Association of Realtors. She was also a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority. Most of all, she was an amazing and devoted mother.
Mrs. Hannon was a member of Myers Park United Methodist Church in Charlotte, where she sang in the Chancel choir, and was also a member of West Market Street United Methodist Church in Greensboro. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed nothing more than being able to take her grandchild, nieces and nephews to the movies as a special treat.
Mrs. Hannon’s family includes her husband, James William Hannon; son, James Michael Hannon of Charlotte; daughter, Mary Hannon Kallas of Clayton; sister, Norma Jean Gwinn of Tucson, AZ; and brother, Ronald Erskin Wimberly of Greensboro; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and uncles.
A service to celebrate Judith’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8th at Myers Park United Methodist Church, 1501 Queens Road, Charlotte, NC 28207. Her family will receive friends at the church following the service. Her remains will be laid to rest in the Columbarium at West Market Street United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Myers Park United Methodist Church Music Ministry.
