Judy Smith Lowe

She was born on the 14th of January, 1947, one of five children to the late Walter Lewis Smith and Mary Juanita Bennett Smith in Charlotte, North Carolina. Judy was a 1965 graduate of Harding High School. She loved trips to the beach, especially her annual class reunions with Harding and West Meck High Schools at Ducks on Ocean Drive.

Judy enjoyed working puzzles, reading, dancing, and getting together with her neighbors and most of all spoiling her grandchildren.

Judy is survived by her husband, Michael Wayne Lowe; her three children: Heather Braun and her husband, Andy of Fort Mill, SC; Marc Hattrick of Gastonia, NC and Sloan Bui and her husband, William of Charlotte, NC; two sisters: Ann Anderson and her husband, Wayne of La Grange, GA; Melodie Tyler and her husband, Greg of Mt. Holly, NC and a brother, Walter C. Smith and his wife, Debbie of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren: Cody and Colby Richardson, Zach Motz, Madalynn Champion, Walker and Greyson Hattrick, Madison, Caroline, Sydney, Olivia and Aily Bui; her Great grandchildren: River Motz and Millie Rose Champion and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by a brother Richard Lewis Smith of Charlotte, NC.

The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Saturday, the 29th of June, 2024 at Covenant United Methodist Church, 6824 Tuckaseegee Road, Charlotte, NC. A service to Celebrate Judy’s life will begin at 11:00 AM at the Church. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Bearing Judy’s casket will be Cody Richardson, Colby Richardson, Zach Motz, Walker Hattrick, Greyson Hattrick, Wayne "Andy" Anderson III, Gregory Tyler Jr, Justin Tyler, Brandon Tyler, Austin Tyler.
