

He spent most of his early years in Elberton until his father moved the family to Charlotte, NC for better job opportunities.
Wayne joined the U.S. Army in 1960 at the age of 19 and after three years of service he joined the U.S. Army National Guard. During this time he met and married the Love of his Life, Vicky Spivey and they shared more than 62 years together along with three children.
Wayne worked in the construction field for many years. He was employed with Tomlinson Engineering and B&B Contracting. He later started his own business, Saxon Acoustical & Drywall. He and his son Robby ran the business for many years until his retirement.
Wayne loved fishing, playing golf, dirt track racing, gardening, swimming and everything that had him outside. He also loved taking his grandchildren on all of his outings. The grandchildren loved hanging with their "Paw Paw."
He is survived by his wife, Vicky; three children, Tina (Mike) Ficco, Robby (Debbie) Saxon and Donna (Tony) Capote; six grandchildren, Chris (Karin) Lamperski, Cameron Saxon, Robbie Saxon, Sarah (Andrew) Ficco Torres, Michael (Summer) Ficco and Tony Capote; three great-grandchildren, Jonah Lamperski, Wyatt Lamperski and Abigail Saxon.
A visitation for Julian will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 1:00 PM until the time of his funeral service at 2:00 PM in the chapel of McEwen Funerals & Cremations at Forest Lawn West, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC.
