Julie Ann Smith

Ms Smith, 46, of Greenville, SC, Charlotte, NC, and Pinebluff, NC, went to be with Jesus on Monday, September 8, 2014 after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was born November 9, 1967 in Knoxville, TN. Julie was raised in Greenville, SC where she attended Southside Baptist Church. She graduated from Richmond Community College with honors. She was a long-time valued employee with Premier Pediatrics in Southern Pines, NC.

Julie was the daughter of Robert and Marilyn Holiday Pettus of Charlotte. She was the loving mother of Hannah Adair Smith, 15 and Dashaun David Dumas, 15. Julie also had a special loving relationship with Jillian Craig of New York City. Julie is survived by her brother Robert D. Pettus, III of Raleigh, NC, and sister Alyson Pettus Laney and husband Draper of Charlotte, NC; nephew, Cody Williams and niece India Williams. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

As much as our hearts are breaking at Julie’s passing, we also rejoice that she is now in the loving arms of the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This is a short, albeit painful separation, but we know we will be reunited. This is our hope and the Lord’s promise. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18)

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 13, at 12:00pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel where the family will receive friends from 10:30 to 12:00. Interment will be private.
