

Julio was born on July 4th, 1950 to Sabina Julca de Saldana and Julio Saldana in Callao, Peru. He was a fishmonger and ran a very successful store front in Callao market. He came to the United States in 1985, residing in Woodside, New York.
He became a jewelry polisher by trade working at the renowned Tiffany & Co. where he retired after 25 years.
Julio was a loving husband, caring Father, humorous Grandfather, giving Son, sharing Brother, best Uncle, exemplary Godfather, wonderful Father-in-law and genuine friend.
He had a passion and love for cooking. He also had a green thumb and loved planting in his garden. Julio welcomed everyone with open arms and expressed his love by preparing you one of his delicious Peruvian dishes. From his famous ceviche, jalea, cau cau, rachi, arroz con leche and Peruvian tamal. His menu was so extensive. He showed his sense of humor by giving you a nickname, no one was spared.
He is survived by his wife Bernarda Saldana, daughter Dolca Suarez, son Christian Saldana and grandchildren Giselle Suarez, Dereck Suarez, Brittany Mancheno, Justyn Mancheno, Alyssa Saldana and Angelina Saldana and daughter-in-law Nicole Velazquez.
Services for Mr. Saldana will be at McEwen Funeral Home - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC on Monday, June 15, 2020 with the Visitation beginning at 4 pm and a Mass Service starting at 6 pm. The family will continue to visit afterwards.
Burial will be on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Crown Memorial Cemetery, 9620 Rodney Street, Pineville, NC 28134.
