June is predeceased by her high school sweetheart and devoted husband of 69 years, Arthur, by her parents and a brother. She is survived by her three children- Rhonda Turner, Daphne Metzger, Damon Kelly and his wife Lea. From those children are eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She loved her family with passion and tenderness.
June was a musician at heart, receiving her bachelor's degree at Queens College in Charlotte, North Carolina. Thereafter, she served in many roles as church choir director, piano accompanist, concert pianist, and private piano teacher in her home. Her musical gift was her joy and brought inspiration and joy to those around her. June was an artist while at the keyboard.
The family wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional and compassionate care June received from Aldersgate's Parker Terrace Assisted Living, Aldersgate's Cuthbertson Village Memory Care, Asbury Rehabilitation, Firstlight Homecare of Greater Charlotte, Novant Home Health, VIA Hospice and Palliative Care, and Harris Hospice at Novant Presbyterian Main.
June had a special scripture passage marked in her Bible:
" That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His suffering, being made conformable unto His death." Philippians 3:10
She will be forever greatly loved by her family and friends. She will be missed immensely. Her life will continue to be a testimony to God's goodness and faithfulness.
There will be a private graveside service, with a memorial service planned for a later date, yet to be determined.
