Mrs. Pettigrew taught my brother, Fleming Johnson, when he was in her first grade class at Windsor Park Elementary School during the 1960s.  I recall my mom mentioning Mrs. Pettigrew's kind ways.  She was obviously a caring and dedicated teaching professional.

I remember picking up June to ride to Beta Tau meetings with me.  I was sad when she was no longer able to attend the meetings.  I also remember June teaching our group to make a bracelet with beads and safety pins.  I still have mine….  June was one of my favorite people. I loved her gentle way and sweet nature..  I think of her often.

Although has been a little more than a year since your loss I’d like to give my condolences to Mrs Pettigrew’s  family. She was my first grade teacher during 1965-66 and recall her fondly. 

I am so sorry to hear of Mrs June's passing. She was one of the kindest people I have ever known. You could not help but to love her.

So many wonderful memories of Mrs. Pettigrew;  growing up around the corner her home was always warm and welcoming. 

June was such a wonderful caring person.  How she loved her Tom Clark gnomes!  She was a cherished friend and will be missed.

Dear June Pettigrew, who lived up the street from me in Windsor Park and rode with me to Delta Kappa Gamma meetings, was instrumental in my participating in DKG. She was my son's teacher at Villa Heights and enjoyed my grand daughter on Halloween, but mainly she was a dear friend and colleague, mentor, and a valued member of our Chapter Beta Tau. She loved my gingerbread men at Christmas and was always interested in my son as he grew up.  I taught her grandson Tommy at Windsor Park Elementary and was sorry that she lost him early in his life.  Her husband always brought my pecan order to my house every year. Even in retirement, she brought her crafts to  Beta Tau and continued to make calls faithfully for the chapter. Thank you June Pettigrew for being my friend.  Judy Hefner

June was one of  the most amazing women I have ever known. Reading her obituary only reminded me of what an accomplished and loved woman she was throughout her life. She was one of the sweetest and kindest people I knew too! After her sister (my grandmother) passed away, June would always go out of her way to still send us cards on special occasions when Granny was no longer able to do it. It was a small, but powerful gesture that meant so much! She will be missed! I love you, June! And the rest of the family! You all are in my thoughts.

It’s so hard to believe such a sweet soul is now gone from our family. She was always such a loving and caring person who left nothing but smiles and laughter with everyone she met. I know she is rejoicing in heaven with all of our loved ones and would want nothing more than for us to be happy she’s with them. Aunt June ( June Bug) was one of a kind. She never forgot a birthday. No matter how many times I moved, June always knew where I was and like clockwork a birthday card would appear on my birthday. 
Her contagious laughter is something I will always remember about June. And when June and my mother ( her sister Bobbie) got together it was bound to be a good time and laughter. 
All the years of family get to gathers - how special they were. Whether it was a Christmas gathering or a Thanksgiving gathering or even an isolated camping trip, I will always hold those memories of our families so close to my heart. 
June,  you were the last connection to Nanny and Bill and mama and I reveled in the years that you lived for many years past all of them. I always felt so good and so peaceful around you because you were the living link to my mother, my grandmother and my grandfather. 
Now that you are in heaven with all of your loved ones, and those that loved you so much are left behind, I will tell you that it is hard for us to be sad just knowing where you are and who are with and that God, so peacefully took you home. 
I love you and am so blessed to have been your favorite niece.
