Karen, 47, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019 at her home in Charlotte, NC. She was in the company of her loving family.

Born March 27, 1972, Karen was the wife of Bryan Bryant and mother to Taylor and Kinley Bryant and daughter of Ken and Nellie Thomas. Following graduation from East Mecklenburg High School, Karen worked in the field of dentistry as Office Manager for Dr. Faucette. After the birth of two daughters, Karen focused her life on the love and care of her family.

Karen and her family worshiped our Lord and Savior at Transformation Church in Indian Land, SC. Karen loved to send her husband and daughters daily Scriptures to encourage them and strengthen their faith and walk with Jesus Christ our Lord.

Karen was a breast cancer survivor whose life’s joy was to see her family live life. She adored her husband, Bryan Bryant, whom she married May 6, 2000. She was also a devoted mother who loved attending all school activities while her girls were growing up. An avid sports fan, she loved to watch and cheer for her favorite football and basketball teams.

Karen is survived by her husband of 19 years, Bryan Bryant; two children, Taylor Bryant and Kinley Bryant, of Charlotte; her father, Ken Thomas; and brothers, Mark and Chris Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Thomas.

Karen’s family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, November 14th at McEwen Funeral Service – Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, followed by a celebration of her life at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Karen and I met through our girls in elementary school. Kinley and Sarah were in 3rd grade and became very close and anyone who knows Karen knoes she had to meet the parents of all of children's friends! From there we spent many summers at Carowinds with our girls Taylor included. We became very close and spent many weekends watching football, eating lunch during the week and just hanging out! She was the most beautiful soul I have ever met. We went through surgeries together supporting one another, laughing at our husbands silly bets over football and great Halloween parties. I will be eternal grateful for the Lord allowing our paths to cross! I know exactly where she is and I know I'll see her again!
Bryan, Taylor, Kinley and all of her family please know how sorry I am for this great Loss you are feeling as she loved her family with her entire soul. My prayers and Love are with you All! May God comfort each of you as only he can! Until we meet again my beautiful friend and sister in Christ, I love you!

Ken, Mark, Chris, Bryan, Taylor, Kinley, I don't know what to say. I am so sorry. I wish I had known Karen better. I feel like I've gotten to know her through the notes that have been shared. It is clear that she was a wonderful wife and mother. How could she be anything less coming from such a wonderful family. Ken I want to give you a special hug. I love you so much. You've been through so much in the last few years. I pray for peace and comfort for all of you.
