Kathleen married David Alan Bronson in 1974 and was a devoted wife for 47 years. She was predeceased by her mother, father, and her beloved sister. She leaves behind her loving husband, David Alan Bronson; her twin daughters, Erin Bronson Phillips (Josh) and Margaret Elaine Braddy (Kyle); and her six lovely grandchildren: Colston, Laine, Hayes, Libby, Bronley, and Jack. She is also survived by her sister, Maureen Wolf; three nieces; and a nephew.
Kathleen graduated from Bricktown High School and graduated with a degree in Education from Georgian Court College. She was a passionate teacher for 25 years. She taught elementary school in Howell Township and continued on as a reading specialist, where she helped students successfully read using the Orton Gillingham Method. Kathleen made a great difference in so many of her students lives, in fact, many of them continued to keep in touch with her throughout the years.
Although she loved her Island Heights town, friends, and community, her love for her daughters and her grandchildren eventually brought she and David down to Charlotte, North Carolina to permanently reside.
Kathleen was able to forge a beautiful relationship with each of her six grandchildren, who lovingly called her Nana, by doing special things with them on a regular basis. Whether it was going camping, teaching them how to create through art, showing them the importance of being outside in nature and not being afraid to ever get their hands dirty. She had a love for wildlife and particularly enjoyed watching birds and owls in her backyard alongside her husband and grandchildren.
She was an avid gardener and spent many hours cultivating her surroundings where she lived. It brought her much joy and peace. You could always find her in her yard appreciating even the smallest details of nature.
An open reception to celebrate and honor Kathleen Bronson’s life will be held on Saturday, January 22 from 12:00-2:00 pm at the home of Erin and Josh Phillips, 2654 Chilton Place, Charlotte, NC 28207.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes if anyone desires, that a donation be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital and Doctors Without Borders.
