Kathleen Elizabeth Toomey Rozzelle

Kathleen Elizabeth Toomey Rozzelle, age 90 of Charlotte passed away November 21, 2012 at Stanley Total Living Center. A visitation will be from10:00-11:00 AM Monday at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 11:00AM at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, Chaplain Ivan Davis officiating. She was born in Gaston County August 23, 1922 and was the youngest of 12 children born to James Paul and Jennie Long Toomey. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Reid Rozzelle, her parents and all of her siblings. Also preceded her was a son-in-law Jerry Dean Ballard. Kathleen is survived by 2 daughters, Sybil R. Helton (Charles) of Stanley, NC and Jan R. Ballard of Denver, NC, grandchildren, Carla Helton Crawley of Stanley, NC, Marcus D. Helton (Lynn) of Stanley, Jason R. Ballard (Alison) of Kannapolis, Jenny Ballard Wiggins (Lee) of Henderson, and Kerry Helton Preston (Dan) of Stanley. Kathleen had 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Evelyn Toomey of Mt. Holly, Ruby Toomey of Cary, NC and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Alan and Hazel Rozzelle of Stanley. Her working career was in Banking. She worked for Mt. Holly Banking and Trust in Mt. Holly and Citizens Bank in Charlotte which later became Northwestern Bank and retired in 1976. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and served and honored Him faithfully for many years at Cook’s Memorial Presbyterian Church and Grace Christian Center in Charlotte.
