Mrs. Kathleen G. Lloyd

Kathleen Garrett Lloyd, age 84 of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2015 at CMC Pineville surrounded by her loving family. Born March 21, 1930 in Mill Springs, NC of the late Willie Bee Garrett and Lizzie Elizabeth Blackwell Garrett. She worked in retail over 40 years including Woolco’s Department Store and Burlington Coat Factory. She was a loving mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, sister and aunt. She was the heart and soul of her family and will be missed dearly. Survivors include 3 children; George J. Lloyd, Kenneth R. Lloyd, Janet L. Ferguson; all of Charlotte; 2 granddaughters, Michelle L. Eastridge, Shannon M. Ferguson; 3 great- grandchildren, Ella Lloyd, Presley Nelepovitz, and Keenan Eastridge; 2 sisters, Ruby Owensby of Columbus, NC and Judy Elliott of Ruth, NC and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and husband of 63 years George W. Lloyd, 2 brothers; Nelson and Joe Garrett, 1 sister; Mary Garrett, 4 half-brothers, 1 half-sister. Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7, 2015, 12:00-2:00 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Service Charlotte Chapel, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Tom Tate officiating with entombment in Sharon Memorial Park Mausoleum.
