Cathi and I were good summer friends during our growing up years. Several years ago, I lost touch with Cathi’s sister Patty and would like to reconnect.  Every summer, my mom and I (from TN) visited my grandmother Agnes Short who lived down the hill from Pearle, Cathi, Patty, and family in what was then Barnesboro, PA. The 1960's were the best of times and growing up with Kathi at St. Patrick's School in Binghamton was unforgettable. Her sweet smile, kind nature, and friendship were a sign of her true character. My Aunt was one of a kind and I will miss her dearly! Every conversation we ever had included laughter, even the most  serious of subjects  and even at her sickest, she could always make me laugh. My birthday won't be the same without Aunt Kathi calling and singing happy birthday to me.  She NEVER missed a year. Rest In peace Aunt Kathi. I take comfort knowing you are no longer suffering and with be with gram and gramps watching over all of us. I love you

Carrie, I know how much your mom meant to you, and what a big part of your life she was. I am so sorry that she is no longer with you in the way you want her to be, but she is always in your heart and I know she is so proud of you. I will always be praying for you and your family.

Gimmy and I will always remember the great times we had with Kathi and her family in Germany.  Our oldest daughter still remembers playing with Carrie at picnics, visits, etc.  Rest in peace, Kathi.

Tho I know in my head my sister....my friend is now at peace, restful and with my mom; my heart breaks for the loss of such a wonderful person, my other half of "Gemini".  We understood each other so well.  I wish I was closer in miles to Carrie, Katie and Cam--but in heart I am always there and just a phone call or email away.
When my mom passed a family friend shared the following and it always brought me comfort. 

"To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;

So sorry to hear of Kathis passing, she was always one of the good guys She will be missed by Family & Friends a like. God Bless You Kid! C U on the other side.

My mom was the very best mother a daughter could have. My mom was always supportive of me, proud of me and my biggest cheerleader in my life. We spoke every single day and saw each other often. My mom was so kind, and generous. If I so much as complimented her on something she had, she would try to give it to me! My mom was so wise with her advice for me. She always had a special way of calming me down when I was upset. She was always the first person I would call if something upset me, and she was the first one I shared my successes with.My mom was extremely funny. When we got together we would always find something to laugh about. (usually at inappropriate times!)Even when she would be in the hospital, all the nurses would tell me how much they liked her.My mom made friends everywhere she went. I would be so lucky to be just like my mom! Although my heart is breaking and I miss her more than words can express, I find peace in knowing that she is up in heaven with God and her parents, and no longer suffering.  I love you so much mom!!


My gramma was a super cool lady. She always told me I'm a lot like her. She was stubborn, and kind, and the least judgmental person I know.
When I was a little kid I spent a lot of time at her house. We would stay up and eat ice cream and watch Golden Girls until 3am. She taught me what unconditional love was, “I love you no matter what.”
Every year on my birthday she would call and sing me happy birthday. Even when her emphysema had her out of breath and it would exhaust her, she would do it. Every year. She would call to tell me that a documentary was on about whales or Alaska or whatever it was. In case I'd find it interesting.
For thanksgiving every year I was the marshmallow queen and I would put the marshmallows in the sweet potatoes with her. For Christmas she would write me letters from the North Pole and pretend to be Santa. And she was funny.
I'm so sad that this tiny little foul-mouthed, high-spirited, loving, Italian woman isn't here anymore but even though I don't believe in God, she did, so I know she's with her Mom now and she's happier and healthier.
I wish she could have seen me graduate or get married or meet my kids but it's okay. I know she's proud of me.
RIP, gramma. I love you unconditionally.
