Kathryn Little

Kathryn Michaels Little, of Mint Hill, NC, 83, died Monday, March 10, 2014. She was born September 4, 1930 in Nolan County, Texas to the late James Howard Michaels and Kate Elizabeth Wilkes Michaels. She grew up in Nolan County, where her father was a cattle rancher, and her mother was a school teacher, and also the pianist for Blackwell Baptist Church.

Kathryn was a graduate of Hardin Simmons University School of Nursing. She married Calvin Douglas Little on June 25, 1951. After beginning a family, she chose to be at home with her children. Kathryn went back to college at the age of 40 and became a Realtor. She earned her GRI - Graduate of the Realtor Institute. Kathryn was very successful in her 20 plus years in real estate. She retired in the early 90's.

Kathryn is survived by her husband, Calvin Little; children, Carolyn Little Price (Mike) of Richfield, NC, John David Little (Joyce Boger Little) of Mint Hill, NC, and Jane Little Chappell (Wayne) of Mint Hill, NC; grandchildren, Robert Lee Brewer, III (Jessica), Michael Wayne Chappell, and Melissa Elizabeth Chappell; sister, Mary Ellen Michaels Little of Abilene, TX; one niece and three nephews; and multiple grandnieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13th at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 6701 Idlewild Rd., Charlotte, NC. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Harry and Bryant, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte.

Memorial donations may be made to a local Humane Society, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
