Kaye Talley, 88, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on October 27, 2026. Born December 15, 1937, Kaye grew up in Charlotte, where she built a life marked by steady dedication, quiet strength, and a sincere care for others that was felt in both small kindnesses and lasting commitments.
For many years, Kaye served as a nurse at Presbyterian Main Hospital in Charlotte. Her work reflected the values she carried throughout her life—dependability, honesty, and a compassionate spirit that offered comfort to those in her care. After her devoted years as a nurse, she deeply enjoyed retirement, grateful for the time it gave her to rest and to remain close to the people and places she loved.
Kaye’s faith was a guiding presence in her life. She loved her church, Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church, where she was a member for many years and participated in the women of the church group. Her devotion was evident not only in attendance, but in the way she showed up for others with warmth, steadiness, and a kind-hearted generosity of time and attention.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry A Talley and Dorothy Hooper Talley, and by her brother, who passed away in the Vietnam war.
In her later years, Kaye cherished her friends at Brookdale Retirement Community, who became like family to her. The friendships she formed there were a source of companionship and comfort, and she valued them deeply.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm on November 1, 2026, at McEwen Funerals and Cremations at Forest Lawn West, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church, 101 West Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28213, or online at www.sugawcreekpc.com.
Her friends Rebecca and Deborah would like to thank the staff at Brookdale for their love and support. Much appreciation also goes to the staff at Novant Health at Mint Hill.
