Keith Newby was born on February 27th, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Amos and Geraldine Newby. Being the youngest of three he grew up with his siblings, sister Kim and brother Kenneth Newby (who preceded him in death). Keith graduated from Murray Wright High School in June of 1981 and received an Associate of Arts degree from Wayne County Community College.
In his early career he worked in the banking, candy and hospitality industry, later moving into the manufacturing sector. In 2012 he relocated to Pineville – Charlotte, North Carolina to have a change in scenery and explore new opportunities.
Keith had a love for music which sparked his interest in playing the drums. His hobbies included fishing, cooking and making others laugh. Being a kind, loving, devoted and dependable father was of the utmost importance to Keith, and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family and others. Anyone that encountered him was embraced by his smile, laughter, jokes and positivity. He also had a way with words, usually coming up with his own creative lingo, like “word on word”, “til the next episode”, “case close” and “you’ll never go platinum”.
On October 26th, Keith entered into his external rest. Living to cherish his memories is his daughter, Shequila Newby-Buford (Desmond); granddaughters, Madison and Morgan Buford; girlfriend, Marcia Peterson; siblings, Kim and Kenneth Newby; nieces, Janeia Newby, RaShelle Newby; great-niece, JaKayla Newby; nephews, William McCullough, TraVon Newby; great-nephew, Jarien Newby; and a host of family, extended family, friends, and the “Fisher Boys”, all who were very special to him. Keith wanted to know that he loved you all.
