He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Dixon, and his mother, Bobbie Price Dixon. Kelly is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Helen and Matthew Saxon of Charlotte, North Carolina and brother John Dixon of Gastonia, North Carolina. Alex Dixon of Gastonia, North Carolina and Cara Dixon of Charlotte, North Carolina are his nephew and niece. Kelly has many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His black lab, Clyde, has been a loyal companion for 15 years.
Kelly was born in Greensboro, North Carolina and later moved to Germantown, Tennessee where he attended Germantown High School. He went on to become a person you could count on to build, repair or reconstruct almost anything, demonstrating his skills as an excellent carpenter. Kelly also enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and cooking.
Kelly will be dearly missed by all who loved him and spent time with him.
A committal service will be held at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, located at 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212, on December 19, 2025, at 1:00 pm.
