Kelly Thacker Helms, 56, of Charlotte, NC, passed on September 7, 2026. Born May 16, 1970 in Greensboro, NC, she was the daughter of Darrell and Linda (Bowman) Thacker. She was the wife of the late Robert Wayne Helms.
A graduate of Guilford Technical College, Kelly was a claims analyst for numerous years in the insurance industry. Most recently she ran and operated her own business in re-sale.
An avid diamond painter, Kelly enjoyed quilting, watching movies, her cats and spending time with her family.
Kelly will be remembered for being a devoted wife, loving mother, someone full of compassion for others and one of the most caring people around.
She is lovingly survived by her son, Garrett Purdy; father, Darrell (Cindy) Thacker; brother, Jeffrey (Maria) Thacker; niece, Daizy (Luke) Manring; nephews, Stephen Thacker and Roman Thacker.
In addition to her husband, Kelly was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Thacker.
