Kenneth B. Abbott, Sr., 80, of Charlotte, NC passed away on September 29, 2011 at the W.G. Hefner Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. Ken served 11 years in the Army/Navy. He was a Korean War Veteran and also a Purple Heart recipient. Ken spent the major portion of his career selling cars.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris Elder Abbott and children, Debbie Abbott, Mickie Abbott, Ken (Beverly) Abbott, Jr, Grandchildren Amanda, Naomi, Hannah, and Natalie (Luke). Brother, J.D. (Faye) Abbott.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Covenant Baptist Church 11724 Elm Lane, Charlotte, NC 28277 with Pastor Rev. Chad Gullion, officiating. The family will receive friends at 10:30 am at the church before the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Covenant Baptist Church Playground.
