
He was born June 15, 1939, in Greensboro, North Carolina. Ken was a graduate of Sumner High School. He worked as a draftsman and autocad operator in the field of civil engineering. He traveled to many interesting locations during his work career.
Ken was an avid sportsman and especially loved fishing and hunting. He loved attending sports events, including the North Carolina Tar Heels, Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Hornets, Charlotte Knights, Charlotte Checkers, and Atlanta Braves. He and his wife enjoyed traveling to various parts of the world. They especially enjoyed traveling to Europe, Hong Kong, Mexico, and the Bahamas.
Ken wanted to be remembered as a man who loved his family and the Lord.
Survivors include Evelyn, his wife of 44 years; his sons Christopher and Greggory; daughter-in-law Deborah; his deceased parents James and Margaret Farrar; brothers Dwight and Ronnie; sisters-in-law Peggy and Brenda; and nephew Scott.
Instead of a traditional memorial service, Ken requested a private gathering of close relatives and friends at the columbarium.
