Kenneth Paul Mace

Kenneth Mace, age 82, passed away in his home in Vale, NC on November 4, 2014. Mr. Mace was born on November 6, 1931 in Charleston, WV. His family takes comfort knowing he is at peace and home with his Lord and Savior. He was a retired employee of IBM and enjoyed raising chickens. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Mr. Mace was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years Ada Landis Mace; sisters, Delsie Smolder, Linda Stowers and brothers Charles, Clyde, Darrell and Jerry Mace.

Survived by his sister Edna Surface and husband Carlos of Charleston, WV; daughters, Beverly Barabasz of Mount Holly, NC, Paula Sanders and husband Billy of Salisbury, NC, Lana Lang and husband Bobby of Charlotte, NC; sons, Joel Mace and wife Terry of Charlotte, NC, Michael Mace and wife Martha of Mount Holly, NC, and Hank Mace and wife Lisa of Charlotte, NC; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the ALS Foundation in memory of his wife.

A graveside service, conducted by Reverend Chris Randall, will be held Friday at 12:00 pm at Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte. 704-395-0055.
