

Born September 12, 1934 in Old Town, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Paul and Helen D. Watts Paul and was a graduate of Old Town High School.
Laurie was married to the love of her life, Gerald P. Babbin, for over thirty years. After the passing of her first husband, she married Morrel Barnes. They shared twenty-eight years of marriage until his passing. Laurie was employed with Stanley Headquarters and retired after more than twenty-five years of service.
She was a member of the Red Hatters and enjoyed crocheting, quilting, knitting, cooking and baking, and dancing. She was very active in the Monsignor Bojnowski Manor, an orphanage in New Britain, Connecticut and served as a Boy Scouts leader. She also loved to garden and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Jerri-Lynne Richitelli (James) of Raleigh, NC, David Babbin of Coral Springs, FL and Pamela Stavola (Bob) of Connecticut; her grandchildren, Nicole Bruce, Stefanie Folta, Matthew and Johnnie Richitelli, Scott and Marissa Thibodeau, Belinda, Hanna and Nicholas Babbin; as well as fifteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, Laurie was predeceased by two daughters, Lauren Tardiff Babbin and Belinda Babbin Magilo.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10th at McEwen Funeral Service - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210
