“Dal”

Mr. Dalrymple, 87, of Charlotte, NC, a long time resident of the Aldersgate Retirement Community, passed away on November 18, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital. He was born on January 26, 1925 in Lydia, SC, a son of the late Elbert and Gladys Dalrymple.

Dal retired as a Vice–President with Belk Department Store’s, Store Services Division, with 50 year’s service.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII in the Pacific Theatre. An avid golfer and bridge player, he enjoyed his membership at Pine Lakes Country Club. Dal could fix anything around the home, and amazed his friends with his mechanical knowledge.

Dal is survived by his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth Dalrymple; daughter, Marion Stratakos and her husband Jim, of Lake Wylie, SC; son, Frank Dalrymple of Kansas City, MO; sister, Martha Ann Beasley of Hartsville, SC; and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Terry Dalrymple; sister, Vassar Greene; and brother, Wilbur Dalrymple.

Services by the graveside at Sharon Memorial Park will be private.
