Lenrae was born on September 30, 1957 at Charlotte Memorial Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina to William Ake Weaver and Jeanne Wheeler Simpson. Following graduation from East Mecklenburg High School, Lenrae attended Pfeiffer University on an academic scholarship, graduating with Honors in 1979 with a degree in Mathematics. Upon graduation, Lenrae started her career at Duke Energy and remained there for 40 years until her retirement.
Lenrae’s joy in life was derived from her family. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Hassan Radmanesh; son, Zachary (Nilou); daughter, Daria; her brother, Lester Weaver (Rhonda); niece, Cortney; nephew, Brennan; nephew, Babak Golzar (Sally); nephew, Cameron; niece, Lily; and cousin, Stephen McCallum. Lenrae is also survived by many other beloved family and friends.
Lenrae was preceded in death by her father, William Weaver and mother, Jeanne Simpson Weaver.
Those who knew Lenrae describe her as kind, intelligent, caring, tenacious, a community activist, generous, a storyteller, the ultimate researcher, an incredible mother, and a beloved friend.
Family and friends will gather to honor Lenrae’s life at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 3rd, at McEwen Funeral Home Myers Park, 500 Providence Road.
The family will receive friends at Aloft Charlotte Airport Hotel for dinner and celebration of life following the service.
