I am so sorry for your loss. Lenrae and I worked together at Duke Energy on and off for many years. She was a great coworker, detailed, intelligent, funny, and helpful. She and I shared many a story as we both had a cultural diverse family. Prayers for your family.

My deepest sympathy to Hassan, Zack, and Daria ! We worked together many years ago and shared so many laughs and good times - even while we were working! She was such a sweetheart and a wonderful friend! Just so sad! My prayers for the family.

Zachary and Daria
I worked with your mom over a period of years mid-way through our careers at Duke. We were very close friends and would actually follow each other from project to project as we moved around Duke IT. I don’t say it lightly when I say she was one of my most favorite people ever. All of the adjectives describing her on this web page, I found to be true. She was a calming influence on me and a lot of others when the work got intense. She was always so supportive and was one of those friends that would help build me up and give me confidence when I may not have felt it otherwise. And she was so funny....but a low-key funny instead of a look-at-me funny which made her even more fun to be around. When I heard the news of your mom yesterday, it hit hard. 63 is far too young. You have my sympathy to have lost your mom so early. She truly was a wonderful person and I remember her as being so proud of you.

Hassan, I know that you and Lenrae were together from when you both were in school. She told me wonderful things about you and you always sounded to me like a couple whose personalities complemented each other’s very well. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Lenrae was a wonderful coworker, mentor, and friend at Duke. She had a wonderful talent to remember how things worked and great attention to detail, saving us from error on many occasions. I am so very sorry for your loss!

I am in complete shock. My heart is broken. Lenrae and I worked together for years at Duke Energy. She was always making me laugh and could make a bad day into a great day. We were just in touch a few months ago. I am so sorry for your loss. I will be praying for all of you. I will miss talking and chatting with her.

Lenrae was one of a kind. Being friends with her for 50 years was both a blessing and an adventure. Nobody could tell a story better than this lady. Her absence will be strongly felt.

Peace, grace and love to her family, and to all of us who are better people because our lives intersected with hers.

Lenrae was my best friend in high school and college. We were inseparable. You could always see us coming since she was tall and I was short. She was my college roommate at Pfeiffer during our freshman year. She was my maid of honor at my wedding. Lenrae was smart, fun to be with and the sweetest person I have ever known. When we were in high school, we used to take her mom's station wagon filled with newspapers to go "cash in" and take that money to go to McDonalds to split a big Mac. We loved to ride bikes around our Sherwood Forest neighborhood. She was like a sister to me during those years.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I know she will be missed.
