

Charlotte - Morris Leonard Slesinger, a valued member of the Charlotte community since 1947, passed away on September 26, 2015. Born January 15, 1919 in Bishopville, S.C, he was the son of the late Otto and Bessie Jolson Slesinger.
Mr. Slesinger was a World War II veteran, where he served in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and receiving the Bronze Star.
A graduate of N.C. State with a degree in chemistry, he spent more than forty years in the textile business, and was head of global sales for Dexter Chemical Corporation until his retirement. He was a lifelong golfer and a devoted member of Temple Israel.
Mr. Slesinger is survived by two daughters, Cathy Slesinger of Chevy Chase, MD, and Meg Slesinger of Vienna, VA; a son, Joel Slesinger of Lawrenceville, Georgia; along with his nephews, Steve Hockfield of Charlotte, N.C., Ed Hockfield of Long Grove, Ill., Jack Slesinger of Charlotte, N.C.; a niece, Gay Slesinger of Charlotte, N.C.; and several great-nieces. Mr. Slesinger was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Slesinger.
A service will be held at Temple Israel, 4901 Providence Road, Sunday, September 27th at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at the Hebrew Cemetery.
