Lillian S. Helms

Lillian Norment Stephenson Helms passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015, at Novant Medical Center in Matthews, NC. Lillian was born in Charlotte, on February 10, 1928, daughter of Thomas Edgar Norment and Lena Lippard Norment. Lillian was married to the great love of her life, Edward Clifford Stephenson, for 48 years. After his death, she married long time friend, Henry Helms. She is survived by Henry, as well as one son, Don Stephenson of Charlotte, NC, his wife, Lee Ann Stephenson, three grandsons, Will Stephenson and Hunter Stephenson of Charlotte, Tyler Stephenson of Asheville, NC, and one great grandson, Sawyer Stephenson of Charlotte. Lillian is also survived by Ronnie and Donna Helms of Atlanta, and Pamela Helms of Stanley, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lillian was a well known Real Estate agent in Charlotte for 25 years, but her true passion was her family. She was a devoted, wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook and especially enjoyed preparing meals for her 3 grandsons. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Paw Creek American Legion. Lillian was a devoted lifetime member of Chadwick United Methodist Church until it closed. She was currently a member of Park Street United Methodist Church in Belmont.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00pm, Thursday, April 9th, In the Paul Helton Chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. David Hiatt, with visitation preceding the funeral at 2:00pm. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Online condolences may be offered through www.forestlawnwest.com.
