Lillian was married to Charles Simpson, whom she will be joining in heaven, along with her parents Robert and Nora Bell Paxton and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her three children: her daughter Wanda Kay Burr, and her sons Charles David Simpson and Rickey Wayne Simpson and his wife Donna Helms. She is also survived by her grandson Charlie Burr and his wife Alisha Burr, and her granddaughter Jessica Aldridge. She leaves four great-grandchildren: Leslie Poorey, Meckinzye Burris, Lillian Murray, and Windham Murray.
Throughout her life, Lillian was known for the steady devotion she gave to others—loving, caring, and compassionate in ways that made people feel seen and supported. She carried herself with a quiet strength and a loyal, selfless spirit, offering what she could whenever it was needed. Her generosity was not performative; it was simply how she lived, day after day, with a hardworking heart and a deep commitment to family and friends.
Lillian found joy in staying busy, especially outdoors. She took pride in working outside and tending to her lawn, and her care for her home was evident in the time and effort she willingly gave. In the kitchen, she expressed that same warmth—she loved cooking for friends and family, feeding people not only with food but with comfort and belonging. And to those who knew her well, Lillian’s appreciation for simple pleasures was clear—she was, in the best sense of the phrase, an ice cream connoisseur.
Beloved by many and deeply cherished by those closest to her, Lillian will be profoundly missed.
At a later date there will be a private family service.
