Lily Venezia Gurillo

She was wife of the late Paul Grillo, Sr. and daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Venezia.

Mrs. Grillo spent her first 50 years living in Yonkers and Brooklyn , NY. She, husband Paul, and their children moved to Asheville, NC living there 26 years until moving to Charlotte twelve years ago.

She was of Catholic Faith and attended St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Asheville, and in Charlotte attended Berryhill Baptist Church and Forest Point Church in Belmont, NC. An excellent seamstress, she delighted in Italian cooking and cooking shows. An important passion of hers was caring for area birds and her cockatiel, Mario Lopez.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Paul Grillo, Jr. of Red Bank, NJ; Sue-Ann Keistler and husband, Reggie of Charlotte; brother, Vito Venezia of Cairo, NY; sisters, Collie Gerundo and Nina Savino both of Yonkers, NY; grandchildren, Colby and Allie Keistler and Brandon and Jake Grillo.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Paul and Sue-Ann wishes to thank Pat Keistler who, for the last eight years was a devoted friend and caregiver to Lily. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to her recent caregiver, Mary Coley.
