Linda Sue Paxton

Born on April 8, 1950, Linda was one of eleven children of the late Herman and Mabel Elder, Sr.

Linda’s life was defined by her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love, a legacy that will forever be cherished by all who knew her. She is survived by her devoted daughter and best friend, Carla Paxton; her treasured grand-fur-babies, Stella (“Honey, Honey”), Rocco (“Galloping Gourmet”), and Luna (“Luna Tuna”); three sisters, Inez Smith, Nancy Proffitt, and Gerrie Elder; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who adored her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved “#1 son,” Tommy Paxton; her parents; five brothers, H.T., George, Vann, Dean, and Franklin (Bucky); and two sisters, Frances McCumbee and Sarah Elder.

Flowers will be accepted, and memorial donations may be made to the Charlotte Humane Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 8, 2025 at McEwen Funeral Service - Pineville. McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park is serving the family.
