
Lloyd Cardin Miller, Jr., age 71, died on February 26, 2017, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster in Charlotte. Lloyd was born on February 19, 1946 in Charlotte to Lloyd Cardin Miller and Jeannette Van Hoy Miller. He graduated from Myers Park High School, attended UNC-Chapel Hill, and graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a degree in fine arts. He worked as an illustrator for Belk’s Department Store, an art teacher, and a freelance artist specializing in interior decorative painting. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his brothers, Ronald Webster Miller (Mimi) of Natchez, MS, and Andrew Ashley Miller of Charlotte; a niece Sarah Gray Miller of New York, NY, and a nephew Webster Warren Miller (Ashley) of Dallas, TX., and two cousins who were like brothers, Timothy Paris Beaver (Elke) of High Point, NC, and Jeffrey Windsor Beaver (Carol) of Charlotte, who played a major role in caring for Lloyd during the last year of his life. Lloyd was a longtime member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2940 Commonwealth Avenue, where he will be remembered at a memorial service on Monday, February 27, at 7:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 – 6:45 p.m. The family suggests that memorials be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church.
