Loc was born on January 1, 1953, a New Year’s baby. In his younger years, he loved to play sports like soccer and learn Kung Fu and kickboxing.
Loc excelled in school. He was partially through medical school when he was conscripted into the South Vietnamese Army. During the Vietnam War, he served as a counter-intelligence officer alongside United States Army Troops. He moved up the ranks to Lieutenant, leading his own platoon of soldiers.
After the war, he met Hapsoh Abdul, his wife, and had two sons. Khoa Pham, and Nguyen Pham. They emigrated to America in the late 80s, starting in Charleston, West Virginia, and settling down in Charlotte, NC for most of his life.
He is survived by his son, Khoa, daughter-in-law, Eilene, and a beautiful 6-year-old granddaughter that kept him busy in his final years.
A graveside service for Loc will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208.
