Born on July 5, 1960, in Oneida, NY, Buddy lived a life marked by dedication and service, both in his professional career and personal passions.
Buddy graduated from Oneida Senior High School in 1979 and soon after enlisted in the US Army, where he served for three years. His military tenure laid the foundation for his lifelong career as an aircraft mechanic. Buddy's commitment extended beyond his military service as he moved into civilian life, first maintaining helicopters for Hermann Hospital in Houston, TX, transitioning to fixed-wing aircraft for Northwest Airlines in Minneapolis, MN, returning to maintaining medical transport helicopters in Cincinnati, OH, and then completing the last 14 years of his career with Air Methods in Charlotte, NC, retiring as Lead Mechanic. Known for his meticulous work ethic, Buddy often worked long and odd hours to ensure the safety and readiness of the aircraft under his care.
Outside of his professional life, Buddy was a man of many interests including DIY home projects, walking his beloved dogs, golf, cruise travel, fishing, camping, and snowmobiling. His love for the outdoors and hands-on activities showcased his independent spirit and can-do nature.
Buddy is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Babcock; sons, Bradley Babcock and his wife Kimberly, Christopher Babcock and his wife Cristina Jaramillo; brother, Michael Babcock and his partner Michelle Bove; and mother, Patricia King.
