Just wanted the family to know how highly thought of Mr. Solomon was by my family and we're saddened to hear of his passing. I am related to John Erwin by my late Sister Carolyn. There was never a time when Mr. Soloman turned us down when we needed work done on our heating and A/C systems.   He was very knowledgeable and competent in his profession.  His low charge for his completed work reflected his giving spirit.  He was a very pleasant man and is sorely missed.  He touched our lives and we'll never forget him. Mr. Solomon was indeed a great man. I can remember as a little girl him scolding a teenager who had raced his car down our street. I don't remember if that guy hit a dog or just came close, but I do remember Mr. Solomon not hesitating to let the young man know how lucky he was that a child was not hurt and that he would not tolerate that kind of behavior in his neighborhood.

Years later when I was pregnant with my youngest son, Mr. Solomon mowed my lawn each week and refused to accept even a dime. Then there was a time when I attended a friend's wedding out of state and my parents came down to watch my boys. When they got here they discovered my furnace was not working so my dad called Mr. Solomon. When I returned home I received a lecture from my parents about not asking for help but that was not as severe as the scolding I received from Mr. Solomon. He said Debbie you knew you didn't have heat, why didn't you call me. I told him I had planned on getting it fixed when I had the money and he said I still should have called him. I said I knew but I figured he wouldn't let me pay him and that was no way for him to run a business. That's when he put me in my place and told me that he didn't need me to tell him how to run his business and then left me with a $40 bill that I'm sure didn't even cover the cost of the parts let alone the hours he spent in the cold working on the furnace. 

He was indeed a great man and he will not be forgotten.

Louie was a super brother.  Just think washing walls in the spring when school was out, no more.  We still laugh about this.  We had a good time growing up.

Jeannie and family. My heart goes out to you. I have so many memories of growing up on Williow Lane, and you family is a huge part of them. Louie was an amazing man and from a bread that is not found these days. I only wish I would have taken the time to tell him. My prayers go up for you all.

Lee, my heart goes out to you and your family. May God bless you and keep you. I have been where you are and just know that God will see you through. Hold strong to the good memories.
