

Mr. Kovacs, 67, of Charlotte, passed away on February, 26th, at the Veteran’s Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born January 26, 1946, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to the late Frank F. and Susan C. Kovacs.
Mr. Kovacs graduated from New Hanover High School in Wilmington, NC, and Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC.
Mr. Kovacs served the in the United States Army, Vietnam Era, as a combat medic.
Mr. Kovacs is survived by two sisters, Ms. Linda K. Austin of Charlotte, and Mrs. Muriel K. Jones and husband Edward C. Jones of Lewisville, NC, and one nephew, Edward Ross Jones and wife Sarah Schmidt Jones of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Mr. Kovacs also leaves behind his beloved pet, Miss Grace.
During the past few years, Mr. Kovacs made many dear friends, Miss Sara, Darren, Victoria, John , Cha, Abby, Huck and the staff at Dean & Deluca at Phillips Place and enjoyed the fellowship at holidays, golf tournaments, birthdays, and many, many luncheons.
A heartfelt thank you to the excellent medical and rehabilitation staff at Building 42, Unit 2D, for the care and love that was bestowed upon Mr. Kovacs during this past year.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, Mar. 2, 2013, at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte.
