Louise Ogletree Smith

Louise Ogletree Smith died September 11th , 2023 at the Pavilion Brightmore. She was born in Crawfordville, GA on October 12, 1930 and grew up in Athens, GA. She was the daughter of the late Charles H. Ogletree and Frances Willingham Ogletree and was the youngest of nine children.

As a member of Sharon Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, she was active in her circle. She loved to read and garden. She was employed by the Artichoke/Beehive gift shop for over twenty years and retired in 1997.

She was preceded in death by her dearly loved husband of sixty-one years, Edward I. Smith, III, three brothers and five sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Walsh (Ed) and Sandra Smith, and one son, Jeff Smith (Katherine), three grandchildren, Brian Walsh (Jenna), Andrew Walsh and Ian Smith, and two great-grandchildren, Harper and Ella Walsh.

A memorial service will be held in October at Sharon Presbyterian Church, 5201 Sharon Road, Charlote, NC with Rev. Ron Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church reception hall.

McEwen funeral home in Pineville will be serving the family of Mrs. Smith.
