Lucy graduated from Garinger High School in 1966. She worked with Ramsey Products over 40 years while also working in the hospitality field. She especially enjoyed working guest relations with her beloved Carolina Panthers.
Lucy was an accomplished ballroom dancer. In recent years she loved discovering treasures, whether through visiting estate sales or learning more about her family genealogy.
Lucy lived most of her life in Charlotte, but she enjoyed visiting family in Eastern Virginia and Eastern North Carolina as well as travelling with friends and family.
She was a very loving and out-going person who made friends everywhere she went. She was always on-the-go, but never at the expense of spending time with her girls, grandkids and her dogs- Pete, Lily, Lexi and granddog Ginger. Lucy lived life to the fullest, but most important, she knew the value of each person she encountered and touched the lives of everyone she met.
Lucy is preceded in death by her aunt Mildred Worthington. She is survived by her fiancé Robert Irby of Charlotte, NC; children Lisa Kersey, Laura Butler and Jo Lynn Jewell of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren Cody Kersey, Carrie Kersey, Presley Jewell, Gray Jewell and Mazy Barksdale; brothers Kenny (Kathy) Williams of Rochester, MN, John (Mary) Williams of Denver, NC, Richard (Stephanie) Williams of Rutherfordton, NC; nieces and nephews Brent Williams, Beck Williams, Darby Williams and Brett Williams.
Visitation will take place at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 from 6-9pm. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Todd Cemetery in Columbus County, NC at 1pm.
