Luisito, you were a very special human being. You were my very first nephew, my pride and joy. Through you I learned what a love for a baby was like. Your sudden good bye has left me heartbroken and sad. But I have the certainty that this is just a see you later titi, like you used to say to me. I know you are in a better place today, and the first one (as usual) to be in the presence of our Lord Almighty God. A gutsy and brave soldier was needed in the army of the heavens. God called and you responded with a "gimme a second, I'll be right there". I ask God to keep you under His restful and loving wings. My dear nephew SSG Luis Alamo Jr., I love you, go on your new journey, and rest in peace. Love you, Titi Nydia.

I served with SSG Alamo in the Warrior Battalion, Patriot Brigade. We trained together while at Fort Chaffee, and hung rounds together out at Peason Ridge and cleared rooms together out at Shugart-Gordon on Fort Polk. As a fellow mortar man, he was well qualified, and more important, well loved by those who knew him. On deployments, we really didn't see each other much, but when we did, he was always the same funny, smart, conscientious man I remembered. I will miss him, and I will never forget him.
