Lynn Rene Williamson

Lynn Rene Williamson, of Charlotte, NC, died August 20, 2012. She was born February 28, 1962, and is survived by her sister, Suzanne Salley; brother-in-law, Brunson M. Salley, III; and her parents, James L. and Joanne C. Williamson of Charlotte.

Lynn graduated from Providence Day School in 1980. She was a starting player in basketball, volleyball, and softball, and received the Academic Athletic Award that year. She left sports behind when she went to UNC Chapel Hill, where she did well in studies, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. From there she went to UNC Charlotte for graduate studies in Business and Accounting, and became a Certified Public

Accountant. She has worked several years in the Charlotte area in various public and private accounting firms.

Lynn liked music and played the piano and guitar, and loved to spend time with animals, especially horses and dogs. She was preceded in death by her beloved rescue dog, Kayla.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 at Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends afterwards in Evans Hall.

Instead of flowers, if anyone wishes to donate a memorial, we suggest it go to Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church; to the Humane Society of Charlotte; or any other animal rescue organization preferred.
