Madeline "Lynn" Aileen Reynolds

She was born on January 7, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York, to Robert and Madeline Armstrong, and was raised in Ridgewood, New Jersey. Lynn attended Stevens College before graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1959. While at Chapel Hill, she became a proud member of Kappa Delta and met the love of her life, Pete Reynolds. The two married and shared many wonderful years together until Pete's passing in 2002.

Lynn devoted much of her life to education. She was a dedicated third-grade teacher at Providence Day School, where she spent 22 years inspiring and nurturing generations of students. Retirement did not end her passion for learning and teaching. She later attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, earning a master's degree in education. Her love of education continued to shine through as she volunteered for several years at Lansdowne Elementary School.

Family was at the heart of Lynn's life. She is survived by her son, Lee Reynolds of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Sean and Patrick Donohoe; and her sister, Susan Armstrong Cheney of Washington, D.C., and Susan's three sons.

Lynn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pete, and her daughter, Anne Reynolds Donohoe, who passed away in 2015. Lynn will be remembered for her dedication to education, her lifelong commitment to learning, and, most of all, for the love she gave to her family and to the many people whose lives she touched. She had a special ability to make people feel valued and cared for, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her legacy lives on through her family, her former students, and the countless people she influenced throughout her life. She will be truly missed and lovingly remembered.

At Lynn's request, services will be private and limited to family.
