Madge K. Godley

Madge Kenley Godley, age 90 of Charlotte passed away December 6, 2013 at Huntersville Oaks. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Monday, December 9th at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Pastors Billy Towery and Phil Turner officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00PM Sunday evening at the church. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park. Mrs. Godley was born September 6, 1923 in Charlotte daughter of the late Robert Alexander and Emma Phillips Kenley. Mrs. Godley was a lifetime member of Pleasant Grove UMC, member of the Charles Rhinehart Sunday School Class, president of the Pleasant Years Club, served as chairman of the Parsonage Committee, member of the Administrative Board and Trustees, member of the Woodmen of The World, member of the Paw Creek American Legion Post 353 Auxillary , and was awarded a lifetime membership of the UMW and had served as PTA president of Oakdale Elementary School. Surviving is a daughter, Judy Godley Webster and husband, David of Charlotte, grandson, Tyler D. Webster of Washington, DC, sisters, Myrtle Payseur of Goodlettsville, Tenn. and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Godley, and siblings, Floyd, Lewis, Charles, Lester, Ernest and J. W. Kenley. Memorials may be made to the Frank E.
