Born in Charlotte on December 16, 1943, Margaret was the daughter of Joseph Francis Zeman Sr. and Mary Thelma Zeman. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Joseph Zeman Jr.; her sister, Mary Patricia Cooper; and her son, Brian Sean Adams, stillborn in 1968.
On June 27, 1963, she married W. Scott Adams III, her beloved husband, and together they shared a lifetime of love and family.
Margaret attended O'Donoghue School, Our Lady of Mercy High School, and later completed two years in the Sacred Heart Lab program at Mercy Hospital. She devoted many years of her professional life to Wachovia Bank, where she worked faithfully from 1967 to 2005. After retirement, she continued serving her community through public service, assisting with voter registration in her district.
Her Catholic faith was a steady presence throughout her life. Over the years, she was a member of St. Patrick's in childhood, St. Ann's through most of her married life, and St. Gabriel's in her later years.
Margaret loved vacationing at the beach, gardening, raising flowers and plants, birdwatching, music, art, and the exploration of life. She had a joyful spirit and a love of music that often led her to sing out a verse whenever the moment struck.
She is survived by her beloved husband, W. Scott Adams III; her sister, Theresa Hege; her sister-in-law, Tina Zeman; her children, W. Scott “Stretch” Adams IV (wife Helen) and Ashlyn Suzanne Adams; her grandchildren, Brianna Dixon, Samantha Hafner, and Kara Lippens; her great-grandchild, Wesley Lippens; her nephews, Joseph Zeman III, Evan Hege, and Cory Hege; and her nieces, Tessa Jandris, Carmen Agner, Stephanie Eagle, and Mallory Grimes.
Margaret will be remembered with love for her faith, her warmth, her curiosity, and the many quiet and joyful ways she enriched the lives of those around her.
