Margaret M. Brooks

ALBEMARLE -- Mrs. Brooks, age 92, of Albemarle, North Carolina, passed away February 29, 2012, at Spring Arbor Assisted Living.

She was born September 20, 1919, in Charlotte, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Claude and Era McFarland. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James Wesley Brooks; sisters, Mary Louise Sutton and Era Law; and brothers, George McFarland and Claude McFarland.

Mrs. Brooks worked in the trust department for NCNB Bank in Charlotte and retired after a 20 year career. Her quick wit, sense of humor and sharpness of mind made her a favorite among the staff of Spring Arbor. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Charlotte. Margaret was a devoted and loving person who always put her family first and cherished spending time with them.

Surviving are her twin sister, Martha Mae Pressley; nieces, Margaret Elaine Ingold and husband Terry and Charlotte Benison and numerous other loving family members.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Evergreen City Cemetery, 4426 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205.
