Margaret Gibson Luckey

Margaret Gibson Luckey, age 82, beloved wife of 65 yrs to Brooks O. Luckey, lifelong resident of Charlotte, passed away January 10, 2013. Born in St. Peters Hospital in Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of the late Mrs. Reba Gibson. Mrs. Luckey attended Carolina Business College and was an active member of Mensa for many years. She enjoyed bowling very much and was also an accomplished portrait artist.

Besides her husband Brooks, she is survived by her children; Michael B. Luckey(Patricia), R. Stephen Luckey(Janice), Cathy Johnson and K. Patrick Luckey(Wanda); grandchildren Julie Brandenburg, Jillian Crosby, Robert Luckey, Carrie Rodgers, David Luckey and Travis Luckey; great grandchildren Kendall Ellis, Ethan Ellis and Zane Crosby. The family of Mrs. Luckey would like to extend a special thanks to caregivers Jamie, Lauren and Kristina for their devoted and special care.

A graveside service will be celebrated Sunday, 2PM at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive with Rick Felts to officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1 to 2 PM at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations to be sent to Hospice of Lake Norman, 705 Griffith Street, Suite 203, Davidson, NC 28036.
